Cowes, along with East Cowes are the Isle of Wight’s northern most towns and stand at the entrance to The River Medina, that effectively carves the Island in half.  Cowes is the yachting capital of the World and the waters of the Solent and The Island drawn all sizes of boats and water craft to their marinas.

Cowes sits opposite the entrance to the shipping lane that runs up Southampton water.  If you sit on the seafront, especially on a Sunday evening, there are liners leaving Southampton off on their voyages.

The Red Funnel Red Jet high speed ferry comes in to Cowes and the town is always bustling, with people either from the yachting fraternity or people looking at the many specialist shops that fill the town.
