A week of events and celebration 1-7 October 2016

Age Friendly Island is delighted to coordinate the Celebrating Age Festival with numerous generous partners committed to celebrating older island residents and bringing our communities together.

There will be a number of events taking place across the Island at the beginning of October.


Monday 3rd October 2016

Event: Men in sheds open afternoon

Venue: Age UK IW, Newport.

Time: 14:00-16:00

Cost: Free

Description: A chance to visit the ‘Shed’ in Newport and get a taster of what Men in Sheds has to offer.

Event: Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover

Venue: Ventnor Library

Time: Opening hours

Description: Exhibition – “Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover”

Event: Information Café

Venue: Whitmore Court, School Lane, Freshwater PO40 9AL

Time: 11am – 2pm

Description: The following will be there to talk to: Action on Hearing Loss, West Wight Sports Centre, Alzheimer’s Society, Men In Sheds, Learning Links, Time Bank, Independent Arts (tbc), Cancer Support, Good Neighbour Scheme and representatives from Southern Housing Group.
