Jan Ramscar – Plants in a Different Light

January 26 @ 10:00 am - May 13 @ 3:00 pm

WELCOME to Dimbola Museum

Scientist and artist, Jan Ramscar, presents an exhibition of botanical photograms created without a camera. Following in the footsteps of early photographic pioneers, Jan works in a darkroom, shining light through flowers and seeds onto photographic paper to create unique and intricate images of some of the smallest elements of the natural world. ‘Each image is completely unique and unrepeatable,’ says Jan, ‘much like a monoprint in Art … so these images cross the boundary between photography and Fine Art.’
The exhibition preview is on Thursday 25th January 6-8pm. All welcome.

Please note we are open 10am-3pm Wednesday-Sunday during the end of January & Feb & 4pm in March and then from Easter & April 7 days a week 10am-5pm

Dimbola Lodge was the home of the celebrated Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron. It is now a Museum and Gallery dedicated to her life and work, which also showcases contemporary exhibitions from photographers around the globe.
