We invite you to join us at Appley Park, Ryde on Friday 14th October to sample a small taste of what it might feel like to be homeless. Raise awerness about Homelessness on the Island. All the money raised goes towards helping to provide homes and support for the most vulnerable people on The Isle of Wight.
Bring your sleeping bag, cardboard, food and a flask of tea and join us for the night. You will hear testimony from former street sleepers, former addicts about their experiences and how they have turned their lives around. We may even have some music round the fire to finish off the evening. Wrap up warm and remember you only have to do it for one night, some have to face it every night. But with your help we can take people off the streets and given them support into longer term accommodation.
“We are not pretending that spending one night out is close to what over 3,500 homelessness people in England face each night. This is our first year we have run this event and we hope that each year it will grow and become an opportunity for you to respond in a practical way to the growing homeless issue. Come and join us” says Heath Monaghan, Leader of Aspire Ryde & Kev Newton, Leader of The Bus Shelter.
