Just because they are small does not mean that your little ones should not have BIG fun on there Isle of Wight holiday, so here is a breakdown of some great indoor and outdoor activities perfect for the 5yrs and younger tourists.

As much as we would like to offer everyone free fun all the time while they visit some of our great attractions do need to charge an entrance fee however we have mixed in a good number free activities.

Animal Magic

IOW Donkey Sanctuary – come to meet the donkeys, learn about the trust and have lunch in the cafe

West Wight Alpacas – take a long, short or picnic walk with the resident Alpacas and grab a pizza or sweet treat in the bistro

Monkey Haven – come and meet the lovely residents of the Monkey Haven and learn about them from the keepers, watch them be fed visit the aviaries and enjoy the outdoor play areas  one for the under 5’s and one for the over 5’s to enjoy

Quarr Abbey – A great free attraction run by the monks who only request a donation while visiting, the Abbey has some animals on hand to meet, a gallery for the grown-ups and great cafe and farm shop.

Tapnell Farm – come to meet the residence visit the popular Wallaby walkabout and enjoy meeting the smaller residents in the animal corner.

IOW Zoo – meet the Lions, Lemurs, Meerkats, New World Monkey, Raccoons and so many more

Wildlife Themed Events for Kids

Weekly woodland parent and toddler group for family learning in a natural environment. Weekly child-led learning opportunities for under-fives in our woodland classroom. Find out more

Explore the Red Squirrel trail at Parkhurst forest which is free entry and a great day out for the little ones trying to spot the famous Island squirrels.

Soft Play Areas

There is nothing more fun than running around a Jungle Jim with slides, ball pits and great activities and the Isle of Wight has some great Jungle Jims and Play Zones to keep even the most active toddler happy

JR Zone The island’s largest indoor play area in Newport,

Dedicated Toddlers Area: Soft, safe bay area with toys, bright colours and textures, interactive games

Dedicated 1yrs – 4yrs Area: No bigger kids allowed! soft play area, interactive games and ride on toys plus a 5yrs – 6yrs Adventure Play Area: Suitable for kids of all ages, 3-level Giant Soft Play Area: 3 levels of fun, 4 lane slide, tube slides, sky glide, rope  walk, ball pit, football area and spooky zone

There is also a café seating area adjacent to the play area where you can keep a watch on the little ones while they explore these great fun areas.

Jungle Jim’s at Shanklin Seafront

Under 8’s must be supervised, 2 Level Jungle Jim with tube slides, ball pit,  inflatables, tube slides and air walkway and a dedicated tiny tots area for the younger ones.

For the Grown Up’s, relax in the comfortable seating area and enjoy a hot drink from the small café

Magic Kingdom at Sandown Pier

A land of fantasy and fun, ball pits, slides, a swing slide, aerial walkway plus great attractions built in.

The cafe area next to Magic Kingdom is ideal for parents to relax whilst children are playing

Tapnell Farm

Three-storey, farmyard-themed soft play zone! Packed with slides, bridges, ball pits and more, there are loads for kids of all ages to swing, bounce, run and jump around. There is also a dedicated toddler area to the side for the littler people.

Giant chalkboard, ride on toys, giant jumping pillar and so much more

Theme Parks and more for Toddlers

Waltzing Waters – come to watch the water dance to a great music score and colourful lights – a great attraction to mesmerise kids of all ages

Robin Hill: For the little ones
Duck Down Play Village: Our miniature village has real houses and buildings but at a fraction of the real size. There is a thatched cottage and even a pub (well, a pretend one!) that children will adore. Make a wish at the Duck Down wishing well and drop in a penny for a local charity!

Tots Play & Activity Course: One playground is especially for smaller children under 7 and the other is for bigger ones! Both are in the parks lower valley next to the playing and picnicking field and have swings and climbing features for suitably aged children.
