Car Parks

Long Stay Car Parks

Long stay car parks are located in all towns on the Island and payment can be made for periods of between 30 minutes up to 10 chargeable hours.  Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine or alternatively, payment can be made using the PayByPhone system.  Instructions and location numbers are displayed on the ticket machines.

Should extended periods be required, payment should be made using the PaybyPhone system.

Short Stay Car Parks

Short stay car parks are located near to town centres and tickets can be purchased for periods of between 30 minutes up to the maximum stay which is three hours. Regardless of how short a period you stay in the car park, as soon as you leave the area, a return is then prohibited for a further three hours.

Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine or alternatively, payment can be made using the PayByPhone system.  Instructions and location numbers are displayed on the ticket machines.

Payment Methods

Payment for parking can be made at the ticket machines using either cash, credit/debit card (at selected machines) or by the PayByPhone system, which has instructions and location numbers displayed on the ticket machines.

Free Car Parks

The council operates and maintains a number of free to use car parks at various locations across the island. These are subject to maximum stay restrictions, which will be stated at the locations. Whilst the locations may be free of charge, restrictions may apply.

Please note: All PayByPhone transactions are subject to an initial transaction fee of 20p; this provides the motorist with benefits such as the ability to add time remotely, email; confirmation and online receipts. Optional texts are charged at 10p per text. (Prices correct as at January 2017)
