Enjoy stunning Gardens in the Isle of Wight and immerse yourself in the natural wonder of the Island

Thanks to it’s southerly position the Isle of Wight is blessed with a milder climate and more hours of sunshine than the UK mainland which gives it a much longer and warmer growing season, which has lead to some amazing gardens and designated areas of outstanding natural beauty. To the very south of the Island you will find Ventnor and Bonchurch, which due to their position with the gulf stream and protection from the downs has created a Mediterranean-like micro-climate which can be seen best in its famous botanical gardens in Ventnor where you will find a subtropical and exotic plant collection unrivalled in the UK.

There are some amazing gardens and countryside to explore on the Isle of Wight which can be enjoyed by the keen gardeners and novices alike – one of it’s most renowned gardens is that of Osborne house which was the Summer home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert who set about creating a fashionable garden taking inspiration from around Europe. Another garden with a royal connection is the Princess Beatrice Garden at Carisbrooke Castle which opened in 2009 and was designed by Chris Beardshaw.

There are many other fascinating garden attractions on the Isle of Wight to see during your stay such as Mottistone gardens and Nunwell house and some outstanding natural wonders like the leafy gorge at Shanklin Chine all of which can be found listed below.
