Louise Griffin, great grandaughter of Charles Griffin, manages The Briddlesford Lodge farm shop and it is a TRUE farm shop. You can get everything
The farm shop is located in what used to be the milking stable until 1996 and the character of the building has been maintained, but now the stalls where the cows once stood to be milked are piled high with delicious Isle of Wight produce.
Fresh fruit and vegetables, pickles and preserves, Isle of Wight cheese and other dairy products including our very own ‘Buttercup Milk’ are a selection of produce for sale.
Their own milk, ‘Buttercup Milk’ is available unpasteurised (straight from the cow!), or pasteurised as whole milk, semi-skimmed or skimmed. Their cream is on sale and when they have surplus cream, it is used by Minghella Ice Cream at Briddlesford to make their delicious ice cream.
With a reputation as a real alternative to a supermarket, sourcing produce from around 50 Isle of Wight suppliers and Isle of Wight meats are a specialty, including their own Briddlesford veal, born and reared on the farm to the highest possible welfare standards, happily living in a straw bedded barn, where they have been fed by their mother twice a day.
