Forelands Beach, Bembridge, Isle of Wight
Bembridge Ledge all the way round to Forelands is a stony beach with a rocky platform (the Ledge) which appears at low tide, with some sandy areas for paddling when the tide is out. There are also some great rock pools perfect for small explorers.
The Beach is accessed down a winding single track lane that is signposted from Lane End Road. It has a gated, gravelled car park at the top of the stepped pathway down to the beach. colourful beach huts line up along the crumbling sandstone cliffs – those built towards the tip of the Island are larger and more stable with the others precariously perched along the edge of the beach.
There are two places to enjoy a meal or drink close by one of which is a traditional pub with car park and garden overlooking the sea both places specialise in seafood and are family friendly.
