Keats Kitchen which is inspired by the poet John Keats, is a unique place offering not only lovely homemade food but also a place to come and relax over coffee, read literature or just enjoy a glass of local wine with friends. As Keats was a keen traveller, we have decided to take on board our knowledge of Polish and Swiss cuisines, in addition to more traditional fayre in our menus.
David and Ewa believe in the little things which make people happy. Having worked for quality restauranteurs such as Sir Terrence Conran and Paul Heathcote and having broadened their horizons by working in Switzerland, the emphasis is on exceptional food and service in a home from home experience. We use the beautiful produce that is to be found on the Island and make a number of cakes, chutneys, pies and rolls which can be taken away.
It is for this reason that we have devised a menu with homemade ingredients, local produce and comfort style cooking in mind. We can offer a hearty breakfast or leisurely lunch or a decadent afternoon tea. For those wanting to try something different, we also intend to offer Swiss style rosti and Polish ravioli (pierogi) to name just a few options. The restaurant will also feature themed evenings and events and we will be welcoming some well known chefs and other guests (see News for more details). Among the other attractions, we will have selected days for “Kids at Keats” as well as welcoming cyclists, artists, walkers and other groups as we hope to create an informal environment for everyone.
