Small Hope Beach sits to the left of the main Shanklin seafront and backs onto a spectacular cliff face. Often overlooked in Isle of Wight beach guides, this sandy beach is part of the “Bay Area” (which runs all the way from Shanklin to Yaverland) and is great very popular with families as it is a great place for swimming for both the young and old and the sandy beach makes an ideal spot for beach games, sunbathing and picnics
The cliff side of the sea wall is lined with beach huts which can be hired, some of which are set back from the pathway and have their own garden areas. This beach is also serviced by the facilities along the Shanklin Esplanade where there are traditional amusements, and plenty of places to buy an ice cream or something more substantial to eat.
