IW Cycle Fest Press Release:
The Isle of Wight Cycling Festival 2017 returns in style this weekend. The fun-packed week launches in the stunning Northwood Park in Cowes at 10am on Saturday 23rd September and features a retail village, a pump track provided by Cycle Isle Trax, a bike test track, a display of bikes through the decades, starting as far back at 1860, local cuisine and entertainment, giveaways and competitions, including the chance to win a brand new bike courtesy of SpyVelo in Cowes.
The launch weekend will also incorporate the SpyVelo 100 Mile Cyclo-Sportive – a 50 or 100 mile sign-posted ride around the Island and Old Skool Riki\’s Retro Ride – a 40 mile ride with riders riding bikes from all eras.
Over the following days, multiple organised rides will take place from various locations all over the Island – with accurate grading and all cycling disciplines covered, there will be rides suitable for every rider.
The final weekend of the IW Cycle Fest will take place at Nodewell Farm in Totland and will be an off-road extravaganza, with a Cyclo-Cross Race, Junior Racing, Dual Eliminator Downhill Race and a Cross-Country Enduro – The Hills.
With a relaxed, family atmosphere throughout, all proceeds raised will be donated to the Isle of Wight Junior Cycling Development Programme, which provides subsidised racing for juniors.
