Cowes is a fantastic holiday town located on the very northern tip of the Isle of Wight, perfect for couples and group holidays, along the towns pedestrianized High Street you will find a wealth of speciality shops, art galleries, and boutiques. The seafront is never more than a moment away, and a short walk will take you to the Esplanade and along to the famous Royal Yacht Squadron, where you can look out to see and appreciate what makes the town such a popular sailing destination for sailors and enthusiasts from around the world.

Cowes town is a popular destination for an evening out as many of its bars have entertainment nightly throughout the year. If you are looking for a festive break a New Year in Cowes is a must with its array of bars and restaurants a real party feel comes to the town over this period with many of its residents and visitors donning fancy dress for the night.

The area also has some superb fishing and you will normally find fisherman along the beach, esplanade and round to Egypt point all year round and there is a great variety of fish to be caught from these waters such as bass, mackerel, sole, gurnard & plaice on the Summer months and cod, bass, dabs, and whiting in the Winter

The town is most famous for Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week, which takes place in early August and sees the whole town transformed into an international venue for competition on the sea, and entertainment on land, the town is not only the yachting centre of the Isle of Wight but arguably the world.

A visit to Cowes Week is a must for any visitor to the Island, not only to appreciate the riot of excitement and colour out at sea but also to enjoy the electric atmosphere ashore. During the week the Yacht Haven buzzes with live entertainment and events, and in the evenings crew members relax and discuss the day’s results in one of the towns many restaurants and pubs (reputedly having more per square mile than any other town in the UK).

Cowes week is not the only event to be held here as it is host to a number of fantastic events throughout the year including the classic powerboat race, the famous ‘Round the Island Race’ starts and finishes here, Little Britain challenge, Food shows, Isle of Wight Literary Festival and many more.
