Ventnor Webcam

Ventnor is located on the South of the Isle of Wight. The town grew in Victorian Britain due to its unique microclimate as a place for holiday and health benefits. This traditional seaside resort is often described as the ‘English Mediterranean’ and ‘Mayfair by the Sea’.

The town is built on the side of a steep hill leading down to the seafront and beach. Ventnor looks out to the English Channel and above the town is St Boniface Down, the highest point on the Isle of Wight.

Near the town is Ventnor Botanic Gardens which is located on the site of the Royal National Hospital for Diseases of the Chest. The garden’s collection comprises temperate and subtropical plants and is akin to the Mediterranean due to Ventnor’s microclimate.
