The Folly Inn, Whippingham, Isle of Wight The Folly Inn is an open plan, rustic pub perched on the banks of the River Medina, just up the river from East Cowes in Whippingham. Not only is the rustic theme both welcoming, but it creates a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy some fantastic food. However, on fine days and warm summer evenings, the gardens and seating area look out across the busy river Medina and you will be able to see the busy river life come and go and the harbour taxi ferrying people backwards and forwards to their yachts. The pub attracts a large number of both yachtsman and motor boat people along with tourists and visitors to nearby Osborne House.

The Breeze, Island Harbour, Isle of Wight The Breeze Restaurant and Bar is set within the peaceful surroundings of Island Harbour Marina, one of the Solent’s best-kept secrets. Just two miles south of Cowes, our aim is to serve high quality meals at very reasonable prices. And all within one of the most scenic areas of the Isle of Wight. We have extensively enlarged and refurbished the restaurant, also adding a brand new separate function room. We have also increased the size of our outside seating area and introduced a raised open-air seating platform, with views over the marina and the beautiful River Medina. We can now accommodate over 170 people inside the restaurant and a further 250 outside. If you haven’t yet seen the improvements, click on the images below to see some photographs, courtesy of Christian Hewison. New for 2017, is a fantastic new children’s play area to the side and rear of the restaurant, on astroturf. We have a double tower play frame with slide, swings, a high climber with rock wall, an embankment slide, a toddler’s play tower and a wobble beam. The Pump Bar & Naval Mess, Seaview, Isle of Wight The Pump Bar An endearing and unusual feature of the Seaview is the Pump Bar – a traditional pub, decorated with seafaring paraphernalia, located at the heart of the hotel. You can expect a laid-back atmosphere with a wealth of local ales on tap and serving a traditional bar classic menu. Low on ceremony but high on flavour, the Pump Bar is caught in a time warp and a fine example of what a pub used to be – and the locals agree! Children welcome, dog-friendly. The Naval Bar Modelled on a naval wardroom, officer’s mess-cabin, the Naval Bar is home to a magnificent collection of naval pictures, photographs and artefacts. The collection now extends along the Hotel corridors and is one of the most extensive private collections to be found on the Isle of Wight. The Naval Bar is a perfect place for relaxing and enjoying an informal meal or drink and where talking about politics, religion or business is strictly frowned upon! Terrace During the summer months, the front terrace is the ideal place to kick back, relax and watch the world go by. The beach is only moments […]
